The
Née Danse Company is a professional modern dance
repertory company dedicated to the presentation and education
of dance as a performance art and cultural phenomenon. Educated
and professionally-trained dancers perform a broad range
of contemporary choreography by Artistic Director Della
Cowall, and Guest Artists. Past choreographers and dance
artists include Ben Munisteri, Hernando Cortez, Peter Pucci,
Ara Fitzgerald, and others. Since 1994, the Company has
presented dance performances in formal venues, community
centers, and schools for thousands of appreciative audience
members.
In
January 2005, The Née Danse Company acquired two
large studios that enable Company members and experienced
dance instructors opportunities to offer an alternative
approach to dance instruction. Professional dance educators
or supervised emerging teachers introduce progressive movement
vocabulary, enhanced by historical and contemporary information.
Each class builds on previously introduced material and
students are guided toward outside resources for further
study.
Emphasis
is placed on progressive physical skill development and
appreciation of dance as a art form.
**Please
note: The Née Danse Company does not coordinate a
formal recital with expensive costumes and admission fees.
Instead, parents, family members, and friends are invited
to observe and share in their child’s progress during
the last class of each session. Community performing opportunities
will be available to those interested youth and adults on
an “as available” basis.
