About the Director
Della M. Cowall (she/her) has been working as a performer, choreographer, educator and arts administer for over thirty years. She resides in the greater Philadelphia region. Della has choreographed numerous concert dance works and multidisciplinary performances, as well as twenty-five musical theater productions. She received two Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Choreography Awards and several project support grants.
Della’s full-length productions include Carnival of the People, The Most Beautiful Village, Holding One’s Own: Stories About Living with Breast Cancer, and #danceforukraine (a popup performance).
As a performer, she has danced with Peter Pucci & Dancers, Pittsburgh Dance Alloy and several independent choreographers. Her theater work includes Ping Chong & Co. (Angels of Swedenborg), Pig Iron Theater Company (99 Breakups) and The Nature Theatre of Oklahoma (Life & Times: Episodes 1-5).
Della holds BFA (U of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) and MFA (Connecticut College) Degrees and her university career includes full and part-time positions at Temple University (graduate), Slippery Rock University, Clarion University, Susquehanna University, Gettysburg College, Messiah College, and Lander University. She has been a faculty member at the Peabody Conservatory, Interlochen Center for the Arts, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and Gamut Theater.
As a RYT-200 Yoga Instructor, Della teaches Yoga for Cancer Patients for Crozer Health’s three Cancer Centers and is a Yoga Provider for the wonderful breast cancer organization, Unite for Her.
An intuitive artist, teacher and administrator, Della strives to create a safe, fair environment and celebrate the inherent creative potential within each person.
